Buxton Brewery & KVLT HAIR tune it down to Drop C
Posted: 04.08.26

What happens when two fiercely independent Buxton businesses with a passion for craftsmanship, creativity and community get together?
You get Drop C, a bold new Black IPA inspired by heavy music, alternative culture and the people who make Buxton unique.
Set for release later this year, Drop C is the latest collaboration from Buxton Brewery, Created alongside award-winning local barbers KVLT HAIR. While beer and barbering may seem worlds apart, both businesses share the same philosophy: champion individuality, challenge convention and create experiences that people genuinely connect with.
A Collaboration That Just Made Sense

Founded by Ben Gilooly in July 2020, KVLT HAIR has quickly become one of Buxton’s most recognisable independent businesses. Known for modern cuts, long hair, beard work and hair systems, the studio has built a loyal following by doing things differently. Just like us.
More than a barbershop, KVLT HAIR has become a welcoming space for everyone, offering neurodiverse-friendly appointments and living by one simple philosophy:
All Humans Welcome.
That commitment to inclusivity, authenticity and independent spirit made KVLT a natural partner for Buxton Brewery.
Collaboration has always been at the heart of what we do. Whether we’re brewing alongside fellow breweries or partnering with local businesses, sports clubs and community organisations, we believe the best ideas come from bringing passionate people together.
From Barbershop to Brewhouse

This wasn’t simply a name on a can.
Ben joined the brewing team for the day, getting hands-on throughout the brewing process. From mashing in and recipe development to exploring label concepts and seeing exactly how an idea becomes a finished beer.
Every collaboration should tell a story, and Drop C has been built from the ground up by both teams.
Meet Drop C

Named after the low guitar tuning synonymous with heavier music, Drop C is a Black IPA that celebrates bold hops and uncompromising character.
Like its musical namesake, it’s unapologetically loud, full of attitude and designed for those who enjoy beers amplified.
The beer is currently conditioning in the brewery, with a launch planned for later this year.
We’ll be revealing more details over the coming weeks, including the artwork, launch event and where you’ll be able to get your hands on the very first cans.
Trust us. You won’t want to miss this one.
Independent Together
Buxton has always thrived because of its independent businesses. When local companies collaborate, they create more than products. They create opportunities, conversations and experiences that strengthen the whole community.
Drop C is a celebration of that spirit.
Two independent brands.
One town.
One unforgettable collaboration.
Keep an eye on our social channels for the official launch announcement. It’s going to be loud.
