Sock & Buskin Dry Gin

In Buxton the spirit of performance has always flowed like a timeless play against a backdrop of hills, valleys, natural spring water and Georgian architecture. At Sock & Buskin we’ve set our to distil the essence of this rich heritage into every bottle. Crafting gin with the same passion that has driven performances for millennia – each sip a balance of light and dark, laughter and reflection.

Botanicals found in our Sock & Buskin Gin include many of the classics – Juniper, Cardamom, Fresh and Dried Lemon Peel, Coriander Seed, Liquorice Root, Angelica and Orris Root. Beyond the classic herbs and spices that are traditionally found in London Dry Gins, we have selected further ingredients that can be foraged all over the Peak District including Gorse Berries, Heather and Water Mint for provenance.

What Is Sock & Buskin?

Sock & Buskin, so named after the Greek comedy and tragedy masks which have symbolised and adorned the Performing Arts for centuries, is our new cocktail bar, inspired by the culture, theatre and history of our beautiful home town of Buxton. Open 7 days a week from 5pm til late.

Allow our General Manager and resident cocktail aficionado, Jake, to guide you through our list of hand crafted cocktails using our bespoke S&B London dry gin. Alternatively, ask for a sample of any of our elegant wines, many of which are organic, biodynamic or natural and all of which are available by the glass. For those who seek faster gratification from refreshment, we have a range of award winning local draft beers from Buxton Brewery.

If you would like some tasty morsels to accompany your libations, our incredible Head Chef, Dan, sources the finest ingredients from suppliers within 10 miles of where you are sat to create wonderful small plates specifically designed to complement our drinks offering.
